Rotary ambala cancer and general hospital is a superspeciality hospital in ambala. The hospital hold its promise to be the most economical one with the best results. On the eve if 5th Nov 2019, an 18 year boy came with pain in abdomen and was diagnosed with acute liver failure as the patient’s liver blood vessels got blocked. Patient was advised for emergency surgery by Pinhole method. Patient took a second opinion at Mullana Medical Hospital & PGI Chandigarh, however came back next morning.
In such an unstable condition patient was admitted in ICU under Dr. Abhishek Mittal who is a senior medicine consultant at the hospital. A 5 hour long Pinhole surgery was performed and a new blood vessel channel was created by using angiographic technique. The surgery was performed by Dr. Kartik Mittal (Interventional Radiologist) under the care of Dr. Sonali (Senior Anesthetist). Post surgery patient recovered in 5 days and liver started its normal function. Patient was discharged after 5 days. The Surgery costs 8 lakhs at Medanta Hospital, whereas it costed 2.7 lakhs at Rotary Hospital Ambala, out of which half of the money was given under KARUNA SCHEME. Such a surgery carries high risk of death in best of the hospitals. However, we are happy we could perform such complicated surgery in a resource limited center at Rotary Cancer Hospital Ambala. Our team is really thankful to our Management Dr. Jaidev, Nalini Kant (Chairman), Dr Vijay Bansal, Dr KK Jain, Dr P.C Jain for the philanthropic vision behind the creation of the hospital.
