The Critical Care Department at Dr. Jai Dev Memorial Rotary Ambala Hospital (DJMRH) is proud to highlight the power of teamwork in saving lives. A young male patient with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) was referred to us from a well-known private hospital in Chandigarh after 40 days on a ventilator, battling GBS, secondary sepsis, and bedsores. Upon arrival, our dedicated team, led by Dr. Ajay Panwar, an interventional neurologist and brain stroke specialist; Dr. Anubhav Sharma, a critical, pain, and palliative care specialist; and Dr. Rahul Suri, a critical care specialist, embarked on an intensive treatment plan that included five cycles of plasmapheresis.

Thanks to the relentless care and expert interventions, the patient was successfully weaned off the ventilator after 4.5 months. On July 3, 2024, he returned for a follow-up, now able to walk and manage his daily tasks independently.

This case is a testament to the difference that coordinated team efforts can make in critical care.

Kudos to our entire team for their unwavering commitment to patient recovery!
