The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department of Dr. Jai Dev Memorial Rotary Ambala Hospital (#DJMRH) has successfully performed four cases of Spyglass Cholangioscopy and Lithotripsy, marking a significant advancement in patient care.

All four cases involved large stones in the Common Bile Duct (CBD)—a condition that traditionally requires open surgical exploration, leading to incisions, prolonged hospital stays, multiple drains, and increased post-operative pain. However, thanks to the cutting-edge Spyglass Cholangioscopy procedure, the stones were broken down using laser technology and removed through an endoscopic approach, eliminating the need for major surgery.

The minimally invasive procedure ensured a pain-free experience, with all four patients being discharged the following day without any post-operative complications. A huge congratulations to Dr. Hardeep Singh, Clinical and Interventional Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist, and Dr. Sonali Chawla, Anesthesiologist, along with their dedicated team, for their remarkable achievement in enhancing patients’ gastroenterological and hepatological care.

Team DJMRH continues to push the boundaries of medical innovation, ensuring better, faster, and safer treatments for patients.
